2008 KITEBOARD LESSON SCHEDULE!
    Thank you for your interest in our kiteboarding program.  At the present time, although we do not have an Orbit  Marine Staff kiteboarding instructor in house, we can get you started with a super Best or Slingshot trainer kite package!  Reasonably priced, easy to learn, the trainer kite can teach you the basics of flying and aid you in deciding if you want to continue in the sport. You can even use the trainer to pull you on the snow or on a kiteboard on the beach or grass!   Hopefully, we can find a certified, insurance carrying instructor soon!
 

Curious?  Here's what lessons are all about:
    Starting off,  the student will learn the basic principles of wind and kite theory.  You will learn how to set up your kite, kite lines and bar all the while paying strict attention to safety!
     Once the above is completed, the student will head into the water to begin actual kite flying and “body dragging” exercises.  Known as “assisted body dragging”, the student will begin to combine kite flying skills with being pulled through the water without the board.  The student will also learn self rescue techniques and upwind dragging skills to eventually retrieve his/her board.
     Once body dragging techniques are mastered, the instructor will introduce the use of the kiteboard and kiteboard techniques.  By the end of this session, the student should be ready to practice on his/her own all the skills learned in the lessons, although more practice and lessons may be required to actually get up and riding.

     To help you prepare for water riding, buying and using a trainer kite and instructional dvd is highly reccomended!  We have a variety of trainer kites and a great new dvd in stock!  Come in and check it all out!
