Now that SUMMER is finally here, our local diving season is NOW! Boats are in the water and  ready to take you diving!  Every weekend we will be offering  Basic, Open Water certification dives along with regular charters to our local wreck and rock piles. Boats will leave from Capt. Cove Marina in Black Rock, Bridgeport, just minutes from the shop.  Because we're also in the Bait and Tackle business, the shop is open at 6am both Sat and Sun, so stopping bye the shop prior to boarding the boat is now easy and convenient for picking up any rental gear or paying for the charters. In another few weeks, I'll post a schedule of when the boats will be sailing, but count on at least one boat each Sat and Sun and we'll also offer our Wed. morning, one tank dive for charter folks only, no certification dives onWed. Coming up for trips, Sept 17-21 I'm working on a Florida Pompano Beach/Key Largo weekend get-away.  Also in the works is another return trip to San Salvador, Bahamas Oct 7-11, Cozumel and Akumal Dec 2-8 and Truk Lagoon Jan 19-31. I'll be posting info on these trips shortly on my trip schedule. Also coming up for 2011 is Curacao, Bonaire, Freeport, Bahamas, Cayman Brac and the Red Sea, to name a few!


Leading groups every month to warm, sunny diving destinations is what keeps me as happy as I am, year round!  Here at Orbit Marine, we're busy getting our customers ready for their trips with new gear, equipment service as well as making trip arrangements for them!  If you'd like us to quote you on any future planned travel, please call or e mail me.   Basic Open Water dive classes will be offered every two weeks! PADI EFR (Emergency First Response) and SDI/TDI Nitrox  will be offered on an as needed basis.We now have a Dive Master program in progress with another one to start in May. If you are already Rescue certified and want to move up the ladder in your training, Divemaster is for you, assuming you want to achieve a leadership certification.   Let me know if your are interested.

Our PADI Rescue Diver course will begin May/June for classroom and pool sessions. Open water dives will begin in late May through June for completion. Anyone with Advanced or equivilent experience can join the Rescue program. More info will be posted on our "Classes" link.

I f you just want  to  expand your knowledge, then Master Diver is the rating you want. Just complete 5 specialties and you've got the rating. I will be posting specialty courses on our  "Classes" link for more information. I've got the boats, the staff and all of Long Island Sound to make local diving a pleasure and you don't have to drive or fly anywhere! Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until late Spring to do the specialties locally.

PLEASE GIVE US AT LEAST A MONTH LEEWAY FOR SERVICE TIME AS DIVE COMPANIES MANY TIMES ARE OUT OF NEEDED PARTS.  TANKS NEED ANNUAL VISUAL INSPECTIONS AND 5 YEAR PRESSURE TESTING (HYDROSTATIC).
